چکیده

This paper presents a robust simulation environment targeted for researching the complex dynamics of wireless computer networks. The general-purpose DEVS-Suite simulator supports animation with I/O and state trajectories of wireless computer network models developed using parallel DEVS modeling approach. The simulator offers highlevel model abstraction as compared with simulators such as ns-2, Omnet++ and OPNET. The combined capabilities afforded by the robust DEVS-Suite simulator assists in understanding the fundamentals of wireless network topologies and the logics of wireless communication protocols. Largescale wireless network models can be simulated and evaluated to show the benefits of DEVS formalism performance.

Discrete event simulation-based performance evaluation of Internet routing protocols

This paper presents a discrete event system specification (DEVS)-based comparative performance analysis between the open shortest path first (OSPF) protocol and the routing information protocol (RIP), together with the border gateway protocol (BGP), using DEVS-Suite. In order to evaluate the OSPF and RIP’s scalability performance, several network models are designed and configured with the OSPF...

Discrete event modeling of swarm intelligence based routing in network systems

Simulation remains attractive for performance and scalability analysis and/or design of networks. This paper presents a biologically inspired discrete-event modeling approach for simulating alternative computer network protocols. This approach identifies and incorporates the key attributes of honeybees and their societal properties into simulation models that are formalized according to the Dis...

Multipath Node-Disjoint Routing with Backup List Based on the AODV Protocol

In recent years, routing has been the most focused area in ad hoc networks research. On-demand routing in particular, is widely developed in bandwidth constrained mobile wireless ad hoc networks because of its effectiveness and efficiency. Most proposed on-demand routing protocols are built and relied on single route for each data session. Whenever there is a link disconnection on the active ro...

Modeling of VANET Technology & Ad-Hoc Routing Protocols Based on High Performance Random Waypoint Models

Today, one of the new technologies in the modern era is Vehicular Ad-hoc Network which has takenenormous attention in the recent years. Because of rapid topology changing and frequent disconnectionmakes it difficult to design an efficient routing protocol for routing data between vehicles, called V2V orvehicle to vehicle communication and vehicle to roadside infrastructure, called V2I. Designin...

Comparative Performance Analysis of AODV,DSR, TORA and OLSR Routing Protocols in MANET Using OPNET

Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are receiving a significant interest and are becoming very popular in the world of wireless networks and telecommunication. MANETs consist of mobile nodes which can communicate with each other without any infrastructure or centralized administration. In MANETs, the movement of nodes is unpredictable and complex; thus making the routing of the packets challenging....
